Following another thread and a post from ulladubulla I though the idea of a one line review on your last few poles would be interesting here’s my last 10 years main pole, comparing them to the time they were out.

Garbolino Super Legion – v stiff, spares delivery slow, came apart, good strength
Shimano Speedmaster XT – robust, hardwearing, great finish, loved this pole, just ok at full length
Shimano Aspire AX – robust, hardwearing, stiff, came apart, incredibly expensive spares
Maver 401 – light, delicate, great finish, very stiff, poor power kits
Maver 501 – true stiff all rounder, 11.5m section weak, good power kits, full 16m, great finish
Tricast Iconic – stiff, strong, great package, great balance, excellent top kits, full 16m

Strictly one line please!

Drennan series 2. 11m great pole in its day if your looking for a good starter pole second hand you could do a lot worse.
Daiwa g20. Great pole package for the money, strong as an ox. Heavy but useable at 16m well balanced, only problem top kits need cutting back quite a bit, next best thing to a tourney pro its often said.

13m North Western Pole - Absolute pile of poo
Tricast Sovereign - Excellent pole for the time, up to 14m
Shakespeare Superteam - Again, great pole at the time, not so good over 14m
Maver Euro Bionic - Wore this out in 6 months !!!
Tricast Triaxial - Immensely strong, but horrible over 13m
Daiwa Tourney Pro - Nicest pole i'de had at 16m, but kept coming apart & broke 5 no 4's, & 2 no 3's.
Tricast Trilogy XS - Great, strong pole, needed short no 3 in at 16m to stop the bounce.
Tricast Trilogy Pro 2 - Significantly better than XS, light, stiff & ultra responsive, best pole i've had.

Shakespeare Superteam 14m - Strong, durable, but heavy, v gud serious 1st pole
Shakespeare Quarzlite 14.5m - As above, better than S'team, good allrounder
Daiwa Spectron 16m - FanBLOODYtsatic pole, THE BEST IMO, best 4 silvers but can handle commercials with ease.
Daiwa Tournament Pro X - More commercial biased, still a great pole.

Still trying to get the hang of this fishing lark!!
